I searched to see what some of the favorite books of books clubs were around the country and “Runaway,” by Alice Munroe was a lead contender. Alice Munroe is as short-story specialist and “Runaway,” is a compilation of stories of people and the lives.
I didn’t finish the book and I can say honestly that I was over- stressed trying to make an impossible deadline. At the time, I thought that the book just didn’t hold my interest and wasn’t worth pushing to get it done at such a stressful time.
As I reviewed what others thought about the book, I have indeed taken pause. Maybe, I was just not in the right frame of mind to concentrate and catch the subtleties of Munroe’s characters. So, I will refrain from reviewing this book for book clubs until I completed all the stories.
